- Technical data, such as IP address, browser type, device information, log entries, errors, API status, quota/rate-limit events, and security/audit events.

- Store and display chat history and moderation context for streamers, moderators, and event organisers.
- Detect spam, abuse, harmful messages, suspicious activity, or other moderation signals.
- Send configured notifications, such as Discord live/offline messages, event alerts, and moment notifications.
- Maintain security, debug issues, prevent abuse, monitor API usage, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and platform rules.
3. YouTube API Services
Moonga uses YouTube API Services to provide YouTube-related features. These may include connecting a YouTube channel to a Moonga workspace, detecting live streams, reading live chat information, showing YouTube chat in Moonga chat tools, storing YouTube chat messages for search/moderation/event review, and performing user-authorised YouTube actions where enabled.
By using YouTube features in Moonga, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, the YouTube API Services Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. YouTube data we access or store
When you connect YouTube to Moonga, or when Moonga processes public/live YouTube chat for a connected workspace, Moonga may access or store the following YouTube API data:
- YouTube channel ID, channel title, channel handle/display name, and channel thumbnail where available.
- Live stream/video IDs, stream title, live status, live chat ID, and related stream metadata.
- Live chat messages, including author display name, author channel ID where available, message text, message ID, timestamps, badges, emotes, and moderation/action metadata.
- OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens if you authorise Moonga to access or manage YouTube features on your behalf.
- API status and error information needed to debug, secure, and operate the service.
5. How we use YouTube data
Moonga uses YouTube data only to provide and improve the YouTube features you enable, including:
- Displaying YouTube live chat inside Moonga chat pages.
- Logging chat messages for search, moderation, event review, safety, and analytics.
- Finding or linking active YouTube live streams when configured.
- Supporting commands, moderation actions, chat search, multistream pages, and event tools.
- Showing stream/channel status in dashboards and operational logs.
- Monitoring API errors, quota limits, and reliability problems.
Moonga does not use YouTube API data to sell personal information. Moonga does not use YouTube API data for unrelated advertising purposes.
6. Sharing or disclosure of YouTube data
Moonga does not sell YouTube API data. We may share or display YouTube data only in the following limited cases:
- To the streamer, workspace owner, moderators, event organisers, or users who have permission to view the relevant workspace or public chat page.
- To service providers that help us host, store, secure, debug, or operate Moonga.
- When required by law, platform rules, security, abuse prevention, or to protect Moonga and its users.
- When you explicitly configure Moonga to send a notification or output to another service, such as Discord.
7. Revoking YouTube access
You can revoke Moonga’s access to your Google/YouTube account at any time from your Google account permissions page: Google Security Settings / third-party access.
You may also disconnect YouTube from Moonga where the dashboard provides a disconnect option, or contact us to request disconnection and deletion.
After YouTube access is revoked or disconnected, Moonga will stop using the revoked authorisation token for future YouTube API requests. If stored YouTube data was accessed or stored under that authorisation, we will delete the relevant authorised YouTube data as described in the deletion section below.
8. Data retention and deletion policy
We keep data only as long as needed for the service, security, legal obligations, abuse prevention, debugging, analytics, moderation, or user-requested features. Retention periods may vary per workspace, feature, platform, or configuration.
YouTube authorised data deletion
- If you revoke YouTube access inside Moonga or ask us to disconnect/delete your YouTube integration, we will delete the relevant authorised YouTube API data as soon as reasonably possible and within 7 calendar days, unless we must keep limited records for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.
- If you revoke Moonga’s access through Google’s security settings page, we will delete YouTube API data associated with that revoked authorisation as soon as reasonably possible and within 30 calendar days after we detect the revocation.
- If you delete your Moonga account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymise personal account data and relevant authorised platform data as soon as reasonably possible and within 7 calendar days, unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Chat logs and public chat data
Moonga may retain chat logs and moderation records for workspace functionality, auditability, safety, event review, and search. Workspace owners may have controls for retention or deletion depending on the feature and plan. You may contact us to request deletion of data associated with you where applicable.
Backups and operational logs
Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups or operational logs for a limited period until those backups/logs expire or are overwritten. We do not use backup copies for normal product features after deletion.
9. OAuth and connected accounts
When you connect a third-party account, that platform may provide Moonga with access tokens and account data based on the permissions you approve. We use those permissions only for the features you enable. You can disconnect integrations from Moonga where available, or revoke access directly from the connected platform.
10. Chat logging and moderation data
Moonga may log public or connected live chat messages so streamers, moderators, and event organisers can search, review, moderate, analyse, and manage chat activity. This may include messages from viewers who do not have a Moonga account.
Moonga may also store moderation events, AI moderation results, deletion/timeout/ban context, command usage, and other operational logs required to provide the service.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including access controls and token protection where applicable. No online service is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, export, or disconnection of your Moonga account or integrations where applicable. Some data may need to be retained for security, legal, abuse-prevention, or operational reasons.
13. Children
Moonga is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use online platform accounts. Do not use Moonga if you are not allowed to use the relevant connected platforms.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
15. Contact
